Compressed Air technology
Blowers
High volume, low pressure.
Schematic section, not to scale
How it works
Blowers deliver large volumes of air at low pressure. Rotary lobe, screw, turbo and regenerative types are used for aeration, conveying and process air.
Depending on type: lobes or screws displace air, or high-speed impellers accelerate it. Pressure rise is typically under about 15-20 psig.
Performance range
Low pressure, high flow
Typical industry range. Exact capability is model specific, see each model’s curve.

Advantages & tradeoffs
- Efficient for low-pressure duty
- Oil-free air path
- Wide choice of technologies
- Not a substitute for plant air pressure
- Noise enclosures often needed
- Turbo types need careful control
Best applications
Common in Pulp + Paper, Water + Wastewater, Mining.
Maintenance
Gear oil, belts, filters, relief valve and silencer checks.
